Preparing for lip filler: what to do before your appointment

Before lip filler, prepare an up-to-date list of medication, allergies and previous fillers, contact the clinic if you are unwell or have an active infection, and leave room in your calendar for possible swelling or bruising. You do not need to choose a product or amount before the appointment.

An injectable treatment is prepared carefully at BeautyBell.
01

Start with a consultation, not a product choice

Before deciding, discuss your goal, lip anatomy, previous fillers, the proposed product, price, likely temporary reactions and relevant risks. You do not need to select a brand or syringe size on your own.

A consultation does not oblige you to proceed. You can decide not to have treatment.

  • Explain whether your priority is shape, symmetry or a modest change in fullness.
  • Ask which product is proposed and why it fits the plan.
  • Allow time for possible swelling or bruising before an important event.
02

Medication and supplements

Tell the practitioner about all medication and supplements. Ibuprofen, aspirin and some supplements may influence bleeding or bruising.

03

Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours beforehand and intense exercise during the preceding day. Reduce or avoid smoking around treatment to support general healing.

04

Postpone if you are unwell

Contact the clinic if you have illness, inflammation, rash, active herpes or another infection. Mention any history of recurrent cold sores.

05

Treatment-day checklist

Eat normally, drink water and arrive without lip makeup when possible. Bring current information about medication, allergies and previous fillers.

  • Allow time for recovery and possible swelling.
  • Moderate caffeine if it makes you restless.
  • Periods do not prevent treatment, but you may reschedule for comfort.
06

What happens before the injections?

The nurse reviews your health information, goal and treatment area, then explains the product, price, expected recovery and risks before consent. Treatment is not performed when suitability cannot be confirmed.

BeautyBell reserves 1 hour 15 minutes for a lip filler appointment. This covers discussion, assessment, planning, optional numbing, treatment and aftercare guidance.
